The West Suburban Baseball League (WSBL) is a full and part-time travel baseball league for ages 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 year olds playing throughout the suburbs of Western Chicago. Over 60 teams participated in the WSBL’s inaugural season of 2007 and in 2008 we expect our organization to at least double. The WSBL’s enrollment in 2008 will peak well over 2,000 members and will continue to grow.
The WSBL provides teams an opportunity to play competitive baseball in a structured league with a spring/summer schedule that includes 1st and 2nd half winners for all age groups. WSBL also hosts a mid-season All-Star Gala for everyone. In addition to an All Star Game, the WSBL offers challenging skills events for the kids such as a Home Run Hitting contest, Fastest Base Runner, Around-the-Horn competition, Fastest Pitch and Target Throwing. Over 1,200 kids and families attended last year’s inaugural All Star Gala. Due to the unbelievable and overwhelming participation in last years’ event and the expected attendance for this year, we will be having the All Star Gala at two different locations. And finally, the WSBL season concludes with a Championship Tournament, a year end tournament that includes every team with all final four teams receiving trophies.
